Reverend Sharon Jones was appointed to the Winthrop United Methodist Church effective July 1, 2009.

She was raised in Orono, Maine. She has served United Methodist churches in Buxton and Saco, Maine, and in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. Beginning in 2002, she served as the Senior Pastor at Aldersgate UMC in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. Pastor Jones and her husband Richard took up residence in Winthrop, ME in late June 2009 when she was assigned to the Winthrop United Methodist Church.
